illiterate love
in your eyes I see a world I’d give anything to live in. I can hear resounding love falling loosely from your lips no matter how intensely you try to keep your tongue in your cheek. I can feel your breath skating across my shoulderblades, your whispered confessions blanketing me in sure-fire passion. And then there we are, trying anxiously to keep this static air between us like unmarked terriroty. Our hands lie innocently on its fring, continuing to move together unconsciously, without premeditation. Before either of us realize what we’re doing, before we’re aware of where our hands are headed–we tangle. We blend effortlessly, more at ease together than apart. Both of us tossing out words that make sense on when contexted in the illiteracy of love. I only feel safe when your arms cage me next to your restless heart, I only sleep soundly with my head on your shoulder, my spluttering heart beating sporadically as close to yours as possible.
